Hated the last project :( Packing design does not become me. Blorgh. Tutor said it sorta looks more like a label for body lotion, and she's totally right. Well, you win some you lose some, I guess. So I got a comment on my tagboard claiming that there was 'chat' about my doing a course being a scam. That's one convoluted bastard of a scam, let me tell you! I even moved to Sunderland to support my little jape! Hohoho, I am the master of moneymaking, oh yes. Seriously, though, that's retarded. If I was a scamming webcomic artist I'd say my computer blew up and boo hoo I need a superduper new one with a decent graphics card and oh hey fund my WoW habit please. Then i would go to Panama. I also wouldn't make good on my extra pages offer- Two of those to go, and they will indeed go. I'm in a bit of a writing funk lately, but I think I've snapped out of it now. Fingers crossed, anyway.

Hmmm. I think you might have something with the design. If you darkened the black lines so they're all one flat value of black, it might solidify the design better. I find that a lot of this kind of packaging has that "flash look" where there's a lot of vectorized flatness with the wonky line variation. Wed, Nov. 22nd, 2006 02:57 am (UTC)

Caffeine counts as a flavoring now? I thought it was just the addiction factor. I think if you had fruits or something around/ under the diver, you'd have a health drink connection more, although I love the colors like they are. It would have been funny (if you made up the ingredients list yourself and it wasn't one provided,) you should totally have included taurine, guarana, echineacea, methamphetamine, ginseng, papaya, and ginko biloba to the list. Just to see if your prof was paying attention. Wed, Nov. 22nd, 2006 08:54 am (UTC)

I actually ripped the ingredients right from a bottle of Lucozade, which is mildly worrying. I was sorely tempted to add all sorts of stuff to the list, but she's the type who'd notice, heh. Wed, Nov. 22nd, 2006 08:05 am (UTC)

Ha, we had a packing design project too in my old design/illustration course... it was small juice boxes and we had to actually fold 'em into shape and all after designing them. I didn't enjoy it either, got a good grade though.
Yes, I think it's the lack of fruit on the picture. It looks like someone's just diving into water, and the first association to go with that is shower / bath. Wed, Nov. 22nd, 2006 08:52 am (UTC)

The brief specifically said no pictures of fruit, so I was a bit scuppered on that one :( cause having pictures of fruit on a fruit drink would make sense, you see, and we can't have that! Wed, Nov. 22nd, 2006 09:29 am (UTC)

I like the design. It's clean, and it's pretty, and looks like it'd fit into that whole "wellness" trend going on in europe. ... Would she had been happy if your diver was diving into a pool of fruit? Like having little fruits flying out of th streamer-like thingies? ... teachers are weird. (and so was that suggestion) As for your tagboarders. Oh geez. You even TOLD them that you were doing part time now and the price got reduced. NOT to mention that you're giving them the value (of pages) for your money. PEOPLE ARE WEIRD TOO. Bah. Wed, Nov. 22nd, 2006 03:52 pm (UTC)

mangosteen senses... tingling. :) Yeah it's sad how it seems so many people violently object to the idea of artists making any sort of money off their work online. The worst part of it is that many artists internalize this notion (Because if you're any sort of an artist you'll always think your work can be improved and thus doesn't deserve remuneration...just yet) Sat, Jan. 13th, 2007 12:17 pm (UTC) (Anonymous): workerbees
