Haha, Darken got nominated for a Webcomic Choice Award for character rendering. I am at once confused and overjoyed. Thanks to whoever suggested me for that, it was nice of you to throw me a thought :) I haven't a chance against Lackadaisy and Templar Arizona, but it's still sorta nice to see me up there.

I'm a bit confused by the nominees for use of colour, though... VG Cats? What the heck? Sure, it's coloured, but the colour really doesn't add to the feel of the strip as a whole, which is what I thought that award was for. And as much as I like Penny Arcade, it really doesn't need a WCCA, we already know it's king. I'm not sure about some of the choices for environment design.. I'll have a tough time picking between Aldus and Gunnerkrigg.

It's wonderful to see so many comic genesis comics up there- good to get some recognition at last! Told you we don't all suck.

Congratulations and good luck. :) Your character designs are certainly of a different type from many of the others in that list, but then... it seems like that is quite the eclectic list of nominees overall. 3D-rendered, lineart rendered, fully greyscale shaded, and even some super-deformed-style cartoony renders. It looks like a bit of comparing apples to oranges to pears to starfruit, if you ask me. Still, it's great that you're on the nominee list.

Hello, by the way! I've added you to my friends list, if you don't mind. I really appreciate Darken, and I like to learn bits and pieces of the process of webcomics and the types of people who make them. I promise to remain singularly un-stalkerlike. I'm an accomplished Quiet Presence. :)

Yeah, a lot of the WCCA stuff seems to ride on personal preference. All the same, as a friend of mine said, being nominated is like a little award all of it's own.

Hello, though, of course I don't mind you adding me! Nice to see people who are interesed, even though I'm not very interesting :) That last part is why I'm not especially afraid of stalkers. Nice of you to say hi :)
