I'm currently screaming - along with about twenty other authors - at the bullshittery that has been made of a publishing house which brought out a book of ours.

The publishing house is in Canada, Ontario. I'm wondering if anyone knows any lawyers in that neck of the woods? Or if anyone IS a lawyer in that neck of the woods?

Basically I want to break my contract because THESE PEOPLE ARE FUCKING DICKS.

Nano so far seems to be going all rightish. I hit 15,000 on Sunday, due to the trick of 'taking a minor character and writing something completely different with her that has no connection with the main narrative'. We'll see if inspiration strikes for the main story, and otherwise I'll go with the minor character for now.

The student assistant thing is going well so far. I've got a nice group, some are quieter than others, but at least I have people who'll speak up and who'll argue, whereas some other assistants need to do a lot more prodding before they get a discussion going. Just got to make sure it's a group discussion, and not one guy arguing a lot. My Monday and Tuesday have been long (although the Monday involved going for a drink after with the other assistants and the two people in charge of the course) but they don't feel like long days at all. And it's kinda relaxing to sit in a lecture without constantly having to pay attention and take notes, and it's fun to hang out with the other assistants in our breaks, and the assisting itself is going fine so far.

My other course is Neurobiology, and as I took it last year, I won't need to take the entire lab-part of it again, I just need to do the two practicals I didn't last year, the one involving the food regulation and the other involving the estrous cycle of the rat. I couldn't do the lab last year because halfway through I got the deep thrombosis thing, so now I can catch up on those two missed practicals, do the lectures and with some luck pass the course.

I would also quite like November to stop being horrible to the people I care about. Granted, November has brought some good news as well, but I've had enough of the bad news.

Anyway, got a GUTS meeting tonight about Dracula, let's hope that works out for the best.

So, uh. Apparently, I have a Slime Slugma egg.

Naw, I know I have it. I clicked it in the Shelter, thinking someone would get it first and now it's mine. I'd appreciate any clicks to get that pile of nasty green goo hatched.

This little girl is yet another random character I would doodle in my high school notebooks. IIRC she was a homeless girl who pretended to be a fairy with using patched together junk, and I had been watching too much Cardcaptors (ROLLERBLADES). I've little interest in drawing her or anything like her today, but it seemed like a design worth making sense of!

Eggghhh been feeling sick lately; awesomely enough it's usually when I sit down at the computer, but if I'm kicked back on the couch drawing throwaway stuff in my sketchbook, I'm fine. Too bad doodles don't pay the rent!

I fell asleep on a bar of chocolate last night. I woke up and thought I was covered in blood. No. It was chocolate. I was fucking covered in chocolate.

I called Andy up and was like bitch go home and fix my fucking bed and he's like OH HA HA HA HA YOU GOT BROWN ON YOU. Little fuck.

At least when I got home I discovered he had put that wash on. :/

Guy on one of my writing mailing lists is like OMG CRYS I want it to be CHRISTMAS DAY why don't we have an end of year party that's called the CHRISTMAS PARTY WAILYWAIL and is now writing passive aggressive shite on the forum. He is the same guy who writes WAILYWAIL I'm not participating if someone writes anything about religion or using that as a theme. I have kept my mouth soooo shut because his wailywail is hysterically lulfable. I'm pretty sure he's in his 40s but seems to act like he's 4.

Oh, the lame.

I don't normally hold babies (I worry about dropping them), but this one...
